Walk through the refreshing waters of rice fields to plant rice seedlings by hand — the old fashioned way! From cleaning the water to measuring the rows to actual planting, we go through each step of this ancient process!

Farm to Table Miso Class
Your Guide: Chef Keitaro Ueda (ENG/JPN)
Join Chef Ueda and learn how to make homemade miso! This fermented paste has been part of Japanese gastronomy for centuries. Discover the art of handmade miso, make some yourself, and learn some cooking tips to prepare it.

Shodo Calligraphy Technique Class
Your Guide: Akiko Kondo, Shrine Maiden (ENG/JPN)
Learn the deep meaning behind each character as you put brush to paper. We will go over how to hold the brush, how to create the characters in proper stroke order, and how to apply pressure to the brush. Plus, bring home an unforgettable souvenir!

Guided Tour of Ancient Sake Distillery
Your Guide: Koichi Suzuki, Sake Master (ENG/JPN)
In one of our most popular programs, Koichi Suzuki shows you his sake brewery, which has been in his family for over 8 generations. You will see the distilling process, room by room, and learn the nuances between the many kinds of sake. Sake tasting included!
