Free Restoration Sessions

You can contribute to our ongoing mission of restoring Japan's beautiful rural townhouses and natural landscapes. At our location, we run nearby restoration projects as well as partner with locals who are also rebuilding vacant homes, which always require the help of volunteers.

Restoration sessions are full-day activities that typically fall on weekends, and we provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner for all of our volunteers. Sign-ups are open to all — Akiya Company guests and local residents alike!

Social Impact

The Akiya Company's mission is to build a future where modernity and tradition thrive together.

We source our building materials, furniture, linens, food, and many other goods from local businesses and rural artisans. In addition to sourcing from a sustainable supply chain, our state-of-the-art infrastructure allows local and urban workers, international people, and digital workers to connect their digital lifestyles to authentic experiences.

The Akiya Company offers a space for all to thrive together and contribute to the culture and beauty of the Japanese countryside.

Our aim is to:

  • Provide visitors with opportunities to experience rural life in Japan

  • Empower local artisans to share their everyday life through cultural exchange

  • Educate about local artisan techniques and practical skills

  • Present sustainable methods as viable alternatives for an ethical economy
